William Owen lived at Calder Park, Mount Duneed from 1858 until 1874. In 1869 it was announced by the Shire of Barrabool returning officer, John Mackenzie, that William Owen of Mount Duneed would stand for election as a councillor against David Hill Dow of Forest Station, Paraparap. He was a Barrabool Shire councillor from 1870 until 1873, retiring because of ill health. The following year his residence was advertised for sale as he was about to go to Europe. |
